These honeycombs are the richest and purest harvest of this year's summer. This is honey that has not been touched by human hands until it enters the jar! Each piece is carefully cut and placed in glass containers to preserve its natural beauty and value.
The bees built this comb and filled it with honey in the midst of summer from surrounding blooming plants - fragrant linden blossoms, green meadow clover, raspberry bushes, and a multitude of other summer wild flowers.
Jars adapted for everyone:
- 150g jar – an ideal option for those who haven't tried it and just want to taste, discover this unique flavor, or are looking for a small, cozy gift.
- 350g jar – a larger container for true honeycomb enthusiasts and sweet tooths who want to enjoy a real, natural dessert for longer.
How to enjoy honeycomb?
Honeycomb is not just sweetness, but also a special ritual. Here are some of the best ways to consume it:
- Chew it like natural gum: Take a piece of honeycomb, chew it until the liquid honey flows out, and you can simply spit out the remaining natural wax. This is a great and healthy alternative to regular sweets!
- For drinks: Put a piece of honeycomb into warm (not hotter than 40°C) tea or water. The honey will dissolve, and the wax will rise to the surface, releasing all its beneficial substances.
- For breakfast: Place a piece of honeycomb on warm oatmeal, pancakes, waffles, or toast. The warm food will slightly soften the wax, and the taste will be simply divine.
- For gourmet snacks: Honeycomb pairs perfectly with a cheese board. Serve it with fresh Lithuanian cheese, hard cheese, or nuts.
Benefits for the body
Comb honey is the most valuable because it retains the maximum amount of biologically active substances, and the wax itself and the traces of propolis it contains provide additional benefits:
- Energy source: Glucose and fructose quickly restore strength after physical exertion, sports, or intense mental work.
- Resistance and protection: Chewing wax naturally disinfects the oral cavity. Linden and wild flower honey has anti-inflammatory properties, strengthens the body, and is suitable for upper respiratory tract prevention.
- Nervous system calm: Helps to relax after a stressful day and improves sleep quality.
- For digestion and oral hygiene: Chewing wax acts as a gentle massage for the gums, and natural enzymes positively affect the digestive tract.
Allergens and warnings
- Allergens: Pure honey and wax are not included in the official EU list of 14 major allergens. However, the product naturally contains bee products and pollen, so people allergic to bee stings or spring blossoms should consume honeycomb with caution.
Important warnings:
- Honey and its products should not be given to infants under 1 year of age (due to the risk of infant botulism, as their digestive system is not yet fully developed).
- To avoid destroying biologically active substances, do not put honeycomb into drinks or dishes hotter than 40°C.
Storage conditions:
Store in a tightly closed jar, in a dry, dark, and cool place. Protect from direct sunlight. Over time, the honey in the comb may naturally thicken (crystallize) – this is proof of real and high-quality honey!
